This hammer holder went through several iterations before coming to its current design as version 3.5
The hammer loop is made of 2 pieces of 5oz veg tanned leather, the pieces are custom laser engraved to each order and then cut and hand stitched with lock stitches or riveted in place to ensure security and strength. The hammer loop is designed to keep the head of your hammer close to your hip and at a 45 degree angle for quick and easy drawing while keeping the handle off and away from your leg. The leather helps grip and hold your hammer in place even when crawling through boilers, batwings, and all the piping that goes with it.
Once the loop is complete it is then heated and hardened in a proprietary blend of acid and beeswax for increased rigidity, strength, waterproofing, puncture and cut resistance, and to help it hold its shape during use. Please keep in mind that over time and with use, the leather will start to lose some of its rigidity and if wanted can be sent back for re-hardening.
There is a small space by the belt loops that can be engraved and the entire front of the hammer hammer can be engraved with imagery, text, or both. When placing an order please be as descriptive with what you would like engraved and placement. Once I have a design ready I will send it over for approval so that what you receive is exactly what you had envisioned.
Along with the engraving there are several other options for customizing the look of your hammer holder.
